Mobility Products and Design offers two main different types of foot controls, the first being pedal guards and the second being their left foot gas accelerator. You can read about each specific model below via the links below, or read our overview on each one on this page.

Mobility Products and Design (MPD) Foot Controls Information
Mobility Products and Design has a rather limited range of pedal attachments unless you’re looking for pedal cover guards in which case you’re onto a winner.
They have five different pedal guards but no pedal extensions and only one left foot gas pedal; MPD is mainly only useful for its hand controls and steering wheel attachments – not its pedals.
Find out about each MPD model below, or if you want an oversight of all the different manufacturers then I recommend you visit our page on pedal equipment attachments, aids, accessories and extensions for all products and devices by all the different manufacturers.
MPD Foot Control Accelerator and Brake Guard on Lowered Floor
This particular pedal guard is designed for the lowered floor minivans which require extra height and width as opposed to regular cars.
It features a quick release mechanism which allows the cover to be easily detached leaving just the metal floor plate, as well as a handle near the top of the cover to allow for easy removable.
The pedal guard for lowered floor minivans is perfect for drivers who use a vehicle allowing for far more independence and freedom with regards to their driving.
Most drivers usually just use cars so the regular pedal guard below or perhaps the ‘advanced’ version is going to be more suitable for most people.
MPD Foot Control Accelerator and Brake Guard
This is Mobility Products and Design’s standard model for a brake and acceleration guard made for regular sized cars and generally to be used in conjunction with their hand controls.
This is perfect for protecting both the top of the pedal from accidental engagement, as well as preventing the foot being trapped underneath and inhibiting usage of the hand controls.
MPD Foot Control Accelerator Guard
The accelerator pedal guard is designed to be used by those who can still use their left leg but still want to protect the right gas pedal from accidental use.
I personally think that using a left foot accelerator pedal is a far better solution than this, and it’s worth reading my page about it below.
Due to the size of this cover which is made small so as not to affect usage of the brake pedal, the cover is made sturdier and angled to accommodate the foot resting on top of it.
MPD Foot Control Adjustable Mounted Guard Pedestal
This device is designed for lowered floor vehicles and is similar to the ‘lowered floor’ model above, however the main difference is that this isn’t a quick release device and it’s also adjustable.
This adjustable pedal guard allows reliable pedal covering for a variety of different sized vehicles and is designed to protect the top of the pedal.
For regular lowered floor minivans it’s probably best to choose the non-adjustable version because it’s specifically designed for that type of vehicle.
MPD Foot Control Advanced Accelerator and Brake Guard
This is very similar to the regular pedal guard however it has an angled cover plate which is also larger to allow for a greater amount of protection over the pedals.
Although this is the advanced pedal guard which MPD has manufactured most people won’t find this a significant improvement on the regular model.
- It still features the same quick release mechanism to allow able bodied usage when required.
MPD Foot Control Left Foot Accelerator
Interested in a Left Foot Gas Pedal for acceleration? Instead of having to tire yourself by using your hands for the hardest part of driving (accelerating), why not limit your hands to just braking which is far less frequent?
Most drivers will opt for a left foot conversion simply because it makes driving so much easier and creates a comfortable driving experience.
