Mechanical Linkage for the Menox Hand Control

You’ll find that one aspect of the Menox hand control which makes it very popular is the mechanical linkage which reduces the amount of effort required for usage.

I’ll briefly explain what mechanical linkage is, how it helps, and finally how these things all tie in with the Menox hand control.  The linkage refers to the metal cords which go from the lever/handle to the pedals, and they reduce the maximum input of effort required.  What happens is that the process becomes streamlined and smoother and ends up becoming easier to operate.  It’s similar (in a broad sense) to using a pulley system to lift a box, whereby leverage is utilized to make the job easier.

I’m not a salesman so I’m not going to sit here and say that you ‘need it’, because the simple truth is that you do not.  You don’t need this type of technology whatsoever, and if you’re in decent shape then not having it shouldn’t post any problems.

However, there are essentially two main different groups of people that will be especially interested in this type of handicapped driving technology.

Firstly people who simply want a more relaxing and slightly safer driving experience will enjoy Menox Carospeed driving hand controls.  They make driving easier, and this means the disabled driver is less likely to cause an accident out of fatigue.  Also, driving should be an enjoyable experience; it’s not going to be a fun drive if you’re arms and wrists are incredibly sore.

The second group of people are those who have serious physical limitations and would either not be able to drive without the mechanized linkage, or would find it precariously difficult.  If this is the case then it might perhaps be better to simply buy an electronic-based hand control.  These allow acceleration by simply holding down a button.

Most hand controls are either non-mechanical or mechanical; electronic, hydraulic or mechanical/electronic hybrids are far less available.

Ultimately it’s your choice, but I can tell you that if you’re simply buying this model because of the linkage then it’s not worth it because there are far better options available at much lower prices.

I generally find that one of the main reason why people choose this model is the Menox hand control customization options which allow a great deal of flexibility in altering various different aspects of the design to cater for the requirements of the individual.
